After graduating from Lajes High School, Sylvia attended Olympic College in Washington state and graduated with a BA in Business.

In 1975 she met a man named Lynn Overfield and they were married. This marriage produced four children, 1 girl and 3 boys, named Yvonne who is 26, Robert, who is 21, Micheal, who is 18, and Kenny, who is 16. Sylvia (and Lynn)are also the proud grandparents of Alex Vincent Hart who will be turning 4 years old in September, 2004.

Sylvia has been working with the Visitation School in Washington state for the past 15 years as an Office Assistant. Her position there started off as a volunteer service, as her children were in school there, and she was soon asked to become a full-time employee.

Through the development of the Lajes High Alumni web site, Sylvia has been able to get in contact with many of her old classmates, many of whom she had been looking to get in contact with for over 20 plus years!

Sylvia has offered her interpreting skills to any and all members of the class at our 2004 reunion that will be held on the island of Terceira, Azores, Portugal since she speaks the language on a daily basis and is totally fluent in Portuguese. Sylvia, I think more than one member of the class will be taking you up on that offer.
